Engine and Transmission: It is powered by a 2-liter turbo-petrol engine (making 190PS and 320Nm), mated to a seven-speed DCT (dual-clutch automatic). The carmaker also offers it with an all-wheel drivetrain (AWD).
Features: VW has packed the Tiguan with an eight-inch touchscreen system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, and connected car tech. Other features on offer include three-zone climate control, a powered driver’s seat, and 30-colour ambient lighting.
Safety: Safety features onboard consist of six airbags, tire pressure monitoring (TPMS), electronic stability control (ESC), hill assist, hill descent control, a rearview camera, and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
Rivals: The Tiguan competes with the Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson, and Citroen C5 Aircross.
